Following the regional workshops on Nationally Appropriate Mitigation Action (NAMAs) in Singapore in 2013 and Vietnam in 2014, the TRANSfer project and the Transport and Climate Change project (TCC) of GIZ, jointly organized with UNEP the workshop on “Transforming Building and Transport Sectors through NAMAs” held in Manila, Philippines from 5th – 7th of May 2015. How to refine and scale up MRV blueprints was one of the main questions during the 3rd meeting of the international MRV expert group on March 20th 2015. The MRV expert group of the TRANSfer project was established in 2014 with the aim to further the understanding of Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) of transport NAMAs and to support the development of MRV methodologies and MRV guidance for transport activities.
The TRANSfer project, together with its networking partners, will be busy at COP 20 promoting innovative approaches to support low carbon transport. A number events will provide opportunities to discuss the latest developments in the sector. We provide an overview of events at COP 20 with TRANSfer involvement!
The TRANSfer Project will share insights on the Sustainable Urban Transport Initiative (SUTRI) NAMA, its process and measures beyond at the Indonesian Pavilion at COP20 in Lima. As a knowledge-sharing platform for actual and real climate actions and efforts in Indonesia, the Pavilion is a place to exchange best practices and lessons learned. Continue reading
The motto for this year’s Transport Day is “Transport Tackles Climate Change @ Transport Day 2014”.
The BtG/SLoCaT event will be part of COP20 on Sunday 7th December 2014 at Sheraton Hotel, Lima, Peru. International experts, the scientific community and Parties will demonstrate the potential contribution of land transport in climate change mitigation and adaptation. There, TRANSfer will hold a breakout session on NAMAs and MRV.
CODATU XVI conference, organised by CODATU in partnership with İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi (İTÜ), will take place in Istanbul on February the 2nd to the 5th, 2015. The topic of the conference is: “Energy, climate and air quality challenges: the role of urban transport policies in developing countries and emerging economies”. Turning around climate issues linked to urban transport, the debates and presentations will make the conference a milestone on the way to COP21 in Paris in December 2015. Continue reading
